Canzonetta is making its first appearance at Salisbury Cathedral on Saturday 6th July 2019. Lesley has been a friend of Canzonetta for a few years now and she is promoting this concert to raise much needed funding for Salisbury Hospice, in memory of her husband Steve who died two years ago.
We have an exciting programme of songs, from Handel and sacred pieces to folk arrangements and 20c favourites; 70 minutes of first-class close harmony singing, with Flute solos from Emma Estridge ' Prelude from Victorian Kitchen Garden' and 'Girl with the flaxen hair', followed by canapes and prosecco in the cloisters.
Get your tickets £15 and support Lesley and Salisbury Hospice, available from the Hospice (www.salisburyhospicecharity.org.uk) or from Martins the newsagents in Blue Boar Road, Salisbury.

A full church greeted us for another concert at the delightful Norman Church of St. Nicholas, Studland on 19th May 2019 in aid of Lewis-Manning Hospice. The weather was almost kind to us(!), with some rain during the concert which didn't deter us from enjoying a cream tea and cake afterwards with our lovely audience, outside under the awnings and in the church hall.
We presented two concerts just before Easter: one for Passiontide on 10 April 2019 at The Church of the Sacred Heart in Bournemouth and on Palm Sunday 14 April at Bere Regis Parish Church. Together the concerts raised more than £700 from the retiring collections for the Oratory Redevelopment Appeal and the Church of St. John the Baptist. At Bere Regis Miro Vosper was once again our lovely Soprano soloist, and Richard Hall played organ and piano solos as well as accompanying an extract from Requiem by Gabriel Faure.
We've recently recorded some songs for Dorchester Radio KeeP106 so listen out for Canzonetta on the airwaves! Our huge thanks to Andy Worth. Listen here to 'My Song is love unknown' written for us in 2018 by Dr.Richard Hall.
Founded in 2004, this East-Dorset-based singing ensemble enjoys nothing more than travelling around the beautiful Dorset countryside, singing in the delightful churches of Dorset and enjoying tea and cake afterwards! We cover a varied range of singing styles from baroque and sacred pieces to complex folk arrangements, spirituals to fabulous arrangements of twentieth century songs; close harmony, a cappella or with piano accompaniment.
Canzonetta presents four concerts each year and our adventures thus far have taken us through East Dorset, the Isle of Purbeck and even as far as Jersey. En route this not-for-profit organisation raises funds to support the local community.
